We are Sponsor Refugees. We collaborate with and support community groups across the UK to welcome and resettle refugee families.
Can you help us find 100 sponsors to resettle Afghan families in the UK?
In response to the humanitarian crisis and increased need, the 'Communities for Afghans' program is a partnership between us and the UK Government to build a community-led pathway for families fleeing Afghanistan to settle into our communities.
How you can help
We’re looking for people who are ready to make a meaningful impact over the next two years. Here are three things you could do:
Organise
Recruit a small but dedicated team of at least 6 individuals to welcome a refugee family into your community
Assist
Help find and secure suitable housing for a refugee family.
Support
Support the family to access benefits, public services, and pathways to finding sustainable employment.

Community Sponsorship gives you the power to bring a refugee family directly and safely to the UK and walk beside them as they rebuild their lives.
There are many ways to build a group. Some use their local faith institution as their starting point whereas others knock on neighbours’ doors or WhatsApp friends and family. No matter who you decide to include in your group, a core group of 8-10 members offers a strong start. As you develop and move along the way, more volunteers and befrienders will join, often growing the number to 35-40 members!
As it stands, there are only 150 Community Sponsorship groups across the UK. We believe that a lack of awareness constitutes the primary reason for this. To grow the number of groups, we therefore rely on ambassadors, no matter their background or level of expertise, to spread the message of sponsorship as far and wide as humanly possible.
