Give as you earn

Give as you earn

Payroll Giving is a way of giving money to a charity you care about without paying tax on it. It must be paid through PAYE from someone’s wages or pension.

Why payroll giving

  • More value (literally): Your donations can be worth more than 20% more as they’re taken from your pre-tax pay
  • More flexibility: The amount is up to you and can be changed or canceled any time
  • More support: by giving a regular, reliable donation you can help Sponsor Refugees deliver long term support for groups and help them bring more refugee families to the UK

How does it work?

Speak to your employer to see if they have an existing payroll giving scheme you can join. If they do, your payroll representative can provide a form to fill in. Here you can specify Sponsor Refugees (Citizens UK?) as your charity of choice.

Where no payroll scheme is yet in place, your employer can easily register with an approved payroll agency: HM Revenue & Customs.
