Making Sponsor Refugees your chosen charity can have many facets. First and foremost, you must be sympathetic to the plight of refugees. Secondly, you are a firm believer in and supporter of our cause to bring ordinary citizens together to welcome and resettle a refugee family to their local neighbourhood. Raise awareness about our project

Only a fraction of communities in the UK have so far been involved in Community Sponsorship and the primary reason for that is a lack of awareness of the scheme. But you can change that!

• Dedicate a section about the plight of refugees on your website and explain how ordinary people can help
• Share info about us on your social media, newsletters etc
• Invite Sponsor Refugees to talk about community sponsorship at events

Create team-based events for fundraising

Creating team-based events for fundraising is a great way for colleagues to get to know each other and if they can raise money for a charity at the same time, that’s a huge bonus! Why not add a good cause to the yearly Christmas party fun? Why not run for Sponsor Refugees at the yearly marathon?

Volunteering opportunities for employees

Give employees the opportunity to get involved with their local community through sponsorship of a refugee family. We will connect them with a local group - or better yet - help them start their own.

Employees can also directly volunteer with Sponsor Refugees. We are always looking for more hands to help us support groups and all types of skills are highly welcome.
